'Jesus has been sooo good to me.'

' Jesus has been sooo good to me.' It won't take but a few minutes before ' Grannie' will tell you about Jesus and how good he has been to her. Willie Setzer is her real name, but she insist you call her Grannie, she is 98 years old and a resident at Granite Hills Convalescent home in El Cajon. Grannie is a sweet lady who is filled with love and gratitude for the Lord and she shares her faith openly and frequently. When she first met Thomas it was only a few minutes into the conversation before she asked if he knew the Lord Jesus. She tells of how when she was just a little girl, her mother died and she was left with her 3 sister to be raised by her father who was an alcoholic. It was her mother and grandmother who planted the seed into her heart, at night they would talk about Jesus and the 4 little girls would listen under the covers to stories about Jesus. She tells of how Jesus took care of her all these years and after 98 years she doesn't even have a pain in her body. 'God has been sooo good to me.' She has a sweet little song she sings about how heaven grows sweeter all the time, soon I've got leavin' n my mind. When asked what her advise would be about life, she replies ' serve Jesus, he will never do you wrong...and if you need anything you come to Grannie and I will pray for you' We go to encourage and bless the elderly and find many times after spending time with Grannie it is us that leave with a blessing. We can only pray that if the Lord should terry and we make it to 98 we too will be saying 'God has been sooo good to me',as well as singing Praises with such a grateful spirit as Grannie.

She said, "Serve Jesus, he will never do you wrong." Now that is a biblical perspective on life if I have ever heard one.

What a beautiful testament to the transforming power of the Gospel!
Proverbs 16:31 says "Gray hair is a crown of glory; if it is found in the way of righteousness."

How radiant is the glory she reflects of our Savior! Thanks Suzanne for posting this!
