Visag Church Plant: Kancherla John Babu

In 2004 Kaleo Church, in association with Vision Nationals, raised $5000 to plant a church in Visag District, Andra Pradesh, India. Plans at the time were for the church to open in mid 2005. However due to significant legal and zoning challenges the Church was forced to sell the plot and change plans. They currently are working to secure a plot and are planning to start contruction later this year. Stand by for further updates.

The Pastor planting this church is Kancherla John Babu. He was born on March 01, 1973. He is married to Santhi and is blessed with 2 children – Daniel Nissi and Ebenezer Joshi. He underwent his Bible Training in Master’s College of Theology in the year 2004.

He is currently pastoring in another Vision Nationals church- Kurmanapalem, Visakhapatnam. Here is his testimony:

"I was born in a Christian family to Venkateswara Rao and Siromani in the year 1973. We are 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Since I was born in a Christian family, I grew up as a God fearing child. After completing my technical education, I joined as a supervisor in Hindustan Shipyard. From the time, I joined that company I started to live as I pleased enjoying all the worldly pleasures. I got married on November 12, 2001. In 2002 January, I happened to attend the Gospel meetings that were conducted in the city and in the same meetings, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour. I then decided to live, as God wants me to. However, I could not over come my temptations and so once again, I started to live a sinful life. However, God did not leave me in those times of trials and temptations. I was called to His service in 2003. One day when we were in our family prayer, the Lord spoke to my wife and revealed that he wanted me to join in the ministerial work. However, I neglected his calling and left to Calcutta on some official tour. Once again, the Lord spoke to me and showed me the path that I need to follow. On April 25, 2004, I left all his duties and dedicated myself to the Lord’s service. I then joined Master’s College of Theology in June 2005 for my Bible Training. Later in 2005, after completion of my course I went to Pastor the Church in Kurmanapalem (at the Steel Plant), Visakhapatnam through Vision Nationals.

"My goal: To share the gospel to the young and lead them to Christ. I thank God for the opportunity that God has given me to serve Him. of Vision Nationals has helped me greatly to continue the ministerial work through various training programmes and counseling sessions."
