Meet Andrew Schubert

God has used the gospel to form so many joyful and humble Christ-treasuring servants at Kaleo Church. Oftentimes we don't see a majority of the service people do to glorify Christ and serve His body. This week we want to introduce you to Andrew Schubert. We asked Andrew some questions and hope it will encourage you as well as help you better know him. Enjoy!
1. How and when did Jesus draw you to himself?
I grew up in a Christian home but a big point was my senior year in high school. I got caught cheating at school and the principal showed me grace, which opened my eyes to what Jesus had done. But it still feels like he is opening my eyes every day.
2. How long have you been a part of Kaleo Church?
3 years.
3. What is your favorite thing about Kaleo?
My favorite thing has been my DNA group because it has been consistently encouraging to see the body work in vulnerability and be encouraged with grace and love. To see the gospel at work in the lives of believers has been sweet.
4. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your family?
I’ve been married to Victoria for almost 3 years. I work for Charter School Management Company as an Associate School Business Manager, where I help schools with their finances. We are expecting a baby in May.
5. What words of wisdom would you give to someone wrestling with whether or not to join a DNA?
You 100% should just do it. It is hard at first to be the real you before the real God, but if you commit to it, the reward of it outweighs any fear you might have. F
6. How else do you serve at Kaleo?
I serve in Kaleo Kids, at Serve the City, hospitality, and help out with counting the offering.
7. What are some of your favorite things to do when you get some free time?
I enjoy watching sports (I'm a huge Niners and Dodgers fan), traveling with my wife, exposing new cultures, working out, and I like to cook.
8. What are you currently reading?
I'm currently reading a Hebrews commentary for KBI (Kaleo Bible Institute), Deeper by Ray Ortlund, and am rereading the Harry Potter series.
9. What are you currently watching?
The Crown, as well as Superstore.
10. What is something that most people do not know about you?
I’m ambidextrous
